Today marked the beginning of a courageous tree planting campaign started by the Tarash Students Association (TSA), advocating for the slogan “Live Green, Think Green.” The project aims to raise environmental awareness and increase greenery in Tarash Upazila by 2024.
The launch event at the Tarash Upazila Parishad was attended by important figures such as the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Sueching Mong Marma, and Adviser Member of the Tarash Students Association, Saiful Islam. The fact that they were present highlighted the importance of involvement in the community and the shared commitment to protecting the environment.
In his speech, Sueching Mong Marma praised the effort organized by students, highlighting the significant role that youth play in advancing environmental transformation. The Tarash Students Association’s endeavors are commendable. He stated that the tree planting project demonstrates their dedication to creating a greener future for our community.
Saiful Islam, Adviser Member of Association, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the long-term benefits of the initiative. Planting trees is a very effective way to combat climate change and preserve biodiversity at the same time. He showed admiration for the students for taking the lead in the crucial initiative.
Numerous volunteers, including Md Azim Uddin Mamun, Tarash Students Association President, Masum Billa, Association Secretary, Executive Members Delbar Ahmed and Abdullah Azad, were actively involved in the event. Their passion and active involvement have a positive impact on their community.
Md Azim Uddin Mamun shared his goal for the project, saying, “Our objective is to plant many trees in this locality this year.” We believe that numerous individuals taking small actions can bring about a transformation in our environment. Our goal with ‘Live Green, Think Green’ is to inspire others to get involved in this movement.
Masum Billa and other leaders oversaw the initial tree planting event, ensuring proper planting methods and choosing native species to improve the local environment.
The Tarash Students Association will keep the tree planting project going all year with a range of events and activities to involve various community members. The organization is calling on all inhabitants of Tarash to back their endeavors in building a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
